The Village
Pyrgos Kallistis, the highest village of Santorini
Crowning the island at its highest point, Pyrgos Kallistis is a beautifully preserved medieval settlement — a spiral of whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches climbing to a Venetian castle, the Kasteli.
From its sun-warmed lanes and rooftops the view opens across the whole of Santorini: vineyards, villages and the deep blue caldera beyond, yet it stays gracefully apart from the crowds of Fira and Oia.
